The Site

Still an Old School

A bright classroom with tall windows, a wall clock and a paper display of fire engines, ambulances and boats

Built for learning. Ready for making.

  • A main hall, five classrooms, two kitchens and outdoor grounds, all on one site
  • Tall windows and natural light, good for teaching and for filming
  • We keep the character: the clocks, the displays, the colour, the sense of a place where people learn by making
  • Same purpose, new generation: the building keeps on teaching

Not a refit into a glass box. An old school, put back to work.

How It Fits Together

One Site. One Hive.

Honeycomb: the hive at the centre, ringed by Film, EBFC YouTube, Kitchens, Live events, Learn and Trainee crews, each sitting between the areas it connects THE HIVE FILM EBFC YouTube KITCHENS Live events LEARN Trainee crews

Each area in the hive helps the other.

Nothing here works alone. Every area feeds the others.

Film→Kitchens

Our film side produces EBFC's own YouTube channel: recipes, cook-alongs and the stories behind the food.

Kitchens→Film

Twin kitchens are a ready-made set for food content, and they feed the crews on shoot days.

Learn⇄Film

Workshop students crew real productions. Productions get a steady supply of trained local talent.

Everyone→Live events

Live cook-alongs, screenings and markets bring the public in. They come back for classes, hires and volunteering.

Next Steps: Four-Week Feasibility & Outreach

From Booking to Turnover

Weekly Rollout

  • Week 1: Site & safety inspection
Water, EICR and fire safety checks; safety-critical clearing of communal spaces.
  • Week 2: Clear-out & assessment
Volunteer community clear-out; confirm layout and equipment needs.
  • Week 3: Demand outreach
Reach out to Sussex filmmakers, local tutors and yoga networks to log expressions of interest.
